A four foot oak log hand carved in a deep relief style.  Various techniques are used in the process to achieve a three dimensional effect.  From hand scalloping the log to burning highlights.  Many hours are devoted to achieving a realistic appearance when the carved mantel is complete.  Several coats of polyurethane are added in a gloss finish to accent the depth.  What nice work of art for your home.
